After resting under the cool palm trees at Elim, the Israelites continued their journey. They walked farther into the wilderness, into a lonely place called the Wilderness of Sin. But soon, they faced a big problem—they ran out of food.
The people grew hungry and worried. “What will we eat?” they cried. Some began to complain to Moses and Aaron. “Why did we leave Egypt? At least there we had food!” they grumbled.But God heard their cries, and He was not angry. Instead, He planned to do something wonderful. He told Moses, “I will give My people food from heaven.”That evening, God sent quail—birds that flew low to the ground—so the people could gather meat to eat.
