A long time ago, God’s people, the Israelites, lived in the land of Egypt. But life was very hard for them. They had to work all day as slaves, and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, would not let them go.
God wanted His people to be free. So He sent Moses to speak to Pharaoh. But Pharaoh kept saying “No!” Again and again, no matter what signs God showed him, he refused to let the Israelites leave.Then God told Moses that one more very serious event would happen—a last plague. On a special night, the firstborn in Egypt would die. But God also made a wonderful promise: He would protect every Israelite family.God gave His people clear instructions.
