Lesson Content

1. Jesus told this story: A man was walking down a lonely road when robbers attacked him, took his things, and left him hurt by the roadside (Luke 10:30).

2. A priest came walking by. He saw the hurt man — but he crossed the road and walked right past (Luke 10:31).

3. Another helper from God's house came by. He looked at the hurt man — and he walked past too (Luke 10:32).

4. Then came a Samaritan, a stranger from another country. He felt so sorry for the hurt man. He bandaged his wounds, put him on his own donkey, and took him to an inn to rest (Luke 10:33,34).

5. The next day he even paid the innkeeper to look after the man until he was better. Jesus said, "Go, and do thou likewise" — be kind and helpful just like him (Luke 10:35-37).

Talk about it: Who can you be kind to this week — at home, at school, or in your neighbourhood?

Moral

Everyone who needs our help is our neighbour. God wants us to be kind and caring to others, just like the Good Samaritan.

Memory Verse

“Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

Mark 12:31
