Lesson Content

1. Mary and Joseph travelled to the town of Bethlehem. The inn was full, so there was no room for them to stay (Luke 2:4-7).

2. That night, baby Jesus was born! Mary wrapped Him snugly and laid Him in a manger — a feeding box for animals (Luke 2:7).

3. Nearby, shepherds were watching their sheep. Suddenly an angel appeared and said, "Don't be afraid! I bring you good news of great joy — a Saviour is born!" (Luke 2:8-11).

4. The sky filled with angels praising God: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace!" (Luke 2:13,14).

5. The shepherds hurried to Bethlehem and found baby Jesus, just as the angel had said. They went home praising God and telling everyone (Luke 2:16-20).

Talk about it: Jesus is called our Good Shepherd — He cares for us like a shepherd cares for his little lambs (John 10:11).

Moral

God loved us so much that He sent His Son Jesus to us. Jesus is our Saviour and our Good Shepherd who cares for us always.

Memory Verse

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”

Luke 2:11
