Lesson Content

1. A great big crowd of people — more than five thousand! — followed Jesus to hear Him teach. By evening, everyone was very hungry (John 6:1-5).

2. Jesus asked, "Where can we buy bread for all these people?" There was no shop nearby, and not enough money (John 6:5-7).

3. A little boy had brought his lunch: five small loaves of bread and two little fish. He gave it all to Jesus (John 6:8,9).

4. Jesus took the little lunch, thanked God for it, and began to share it out. The bread and fish kept going and going — everyone ate until they were full! (John 6:10,11).

5. When they gathered the leftovers, there were twelve baskets full! The people said, "Truly, Jesus is sent from God" (John 6:12-14).

Talk about it: The little boy shared all he had, and Jesus made it enough for everyone. What can you share?

Moral

Jesus can take the little we offer Him and turn it into something wonderful. God always provides everything we truly need.

Memory Verse
